Endorsing to GOD our Woes
Judy's eyes looked red. I believe she had been crying. I thought to myself that she could just be having a trying day or that there was a misunderstanding with her husband or a co-worker. I wanted to just leave it like that, but I had that prompting within to follow her where she was going and plan to politely ask her how her day was and if everything was okay. I did this and found out that she was worried about the recent medical findings of her doctors. They talked about cancer and leukemia for a pain that was not going away. Tests were being run and not knowing the results had put this nagging burden on her.
It became an easy task for me that moment to talk with Judy about the LORD and His sufferings in life. Our conversation centered on His promise that if we call upon Him, He is always there.
This simple opportunity to give comfort to a co-worker became my own life’s blessing as well in that I was reminded of the greatness of the LORD who continually works on many lives making them better (if we allow Him to do so). Had I just let go of the thought of talking with Judy that day, I may had not provided her that moment to share with me how her days were. Every day I see her I am reminded to pray for her. While I pray, I am reminded to bring others more. At times I cry and at times the touching moments send me into sobbing because of my own needs. How my LORD takes me into His bosom and gives solace to my soul.
This world needs the LORD's touch! How truly we need GOD's hands to survive the puddles of tribulations! Oh, in that we would seek and find Him and be comforted by His pure unceasing love! We ask ourselves, what good can it do to talk to this person or that individual? You may say, "It's really none of my business."
As believers we can feel the prompting of the HOLY SPIRIT and we know the proper time to move because He guides us accordingly when to act. He gives us wisdom and shows us the way. When we feel the nudge, we have to do what we are told. We will know that touch because it is soothing within our heart. It is that moving nudge that goes to the very core of our being.
We are messengers of GOD's love. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST works through us. He taught us to care and love one another as He has loved us. He left us with a commandment to fulfill and that is to love one another and each day we are afforded with many opportunities to do just that.
I pray that the HOLY SPIRIT will continue to send me those promptings that I may bring comfort to people's hearts. When we comfort others, we bring healing to ourselves. This type of healing is one we call love in its pure essence. This love is GOD!
I reminded Judy to focus her eyes on the LORD as He will see her through all these. She smiled and said, "I know and I am praying. I have a small boy to take care of."
My comforting Judy did not stop there. I made follow-ups on her with simple hellos and short questions here and there. Also I continued to send her some attachments or e-mail encouragements which talk about GOD's work and His loving touch. "Offer it to Him!” I said and she would always respond back, "Oh, I do!"
It feels good to see Judy smile these days when she passes my way. Sometimes I get a simple nod acknowledging that she knows I care for her. That language of GOD's love works between us. We have that special connection of trust in a loving GOD who is watching over us. This faith is tangible among believers.
